After this happened to us last night we did a little research and found these two guys are constantly doing this. Albert Garcia and his boss Michael Swain therefore the dealership is fully aware this is going on by the complaints that have been made and they are...

I want David McDavid to stand behind the pricing I was given for the red 2019 Honda Pilot Touring 7 passengers as shown in the pictures the dealer ship texted to me. Plus I think it is time to fire at the least Albert Garcia and Michael Swain.

Mad at about the service I received

I paid of my car a year and 4 months early. I had Gap insurance and extended warranty. Came in to the dealership when I got the title in October to do paperwork for my money. Here it is the end of June and still haven't received anything. Have been back to the dealership 3 times and nothing. Today I have been here for an hour and no one has came to talk to me.

Dishonest Dealership

I have bought many cars in my 64 years and have dealt with all kinds of people. However my experience today with the David McDavid Honda of Irving is the worse of the worst. I’m asking everyone to share and boycott this dealership. Today we were referred to a salesman Albert Garcia but corporate director that had a longtime friendship of my son. Albert called me and I told him I wanted his best price out the door on the 2019 Pilot Touring 7 passenger in red. He asked what price I was looking for so I told him out the door $35K. He said let me get with my manager and I will call you back. Albert called back and said my manager said it was doable. They next thing I get pictures of the red 2019 Pilot Touring 7 passenger. The text said when can you come we will have you out within an hour I will get the car ready. I then texted him back and said I need to see this deal in writing it is a 2 hour one way drive for my daughter I don’t want to waste our time or yours. Then next few minutes Mike his boss is calling me. He confirmed the price out the door was $35K but did not include the price of the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I asked him to confirm that price and if she would still get the 1.9% finance rate he checked with the finance manager yes you will get that rate and the warranty at dealer cost since you have been referred by our boss. We would not go back or change the deal he is our boss. They knew it was a two hour drive one way for my daughter he asked that we confirm we are coming the deal is only good for today. We confirmed we would be there between 8:00 to 8:30 pm. Great we will have the car gassed up and cleaned for you. We are excited she is getting a great deal and the car she wanted. When we were an hour away she texted Albert to let him know we were an hour away. About one hour later as we are exiting the freeway for the dealership Albert calls a mistake he says has been made I’m sorry we don’t have the car we quoted you the price on. I said what do you mean you just sent pictures. He said that was the Pilot we quoted you the price on the CRV Touring. Those of you that know me I was passed livid. This was a good ole boy deal so the director was called he said they will be calling you with a I’m sorry deal. Albert didn’t call so we called back and he didn’t know about the I’m sorry deal but would call us back. We are back at the dealership by this time he calls with the I’m sorry deal at $41K plus. I don’t about you but to me that is not a I’m sorry deal. Then they have the audacity to tell us we have 5 minutes to make our decision they close at 9 after we drive two hours to get screwed. My daughter had another quote she showed him and ask Mike to match he said no. So we walked Albert followed us to the car wanted to see the price again. He went back and came back with Mike he wanted to know all the options her quote had when she read them off to him he said what did you do get that quote on your way her. No she already told him she had it prior. People Mike was arguing over two hundred dollars. It is time we stand up and don’t let sleazy dealerships stay in business. Honda will be called and the franchise should be pulled. This was fraud and misrepresentation for a fact. If your going to claim it was an honest mistake shouldn’t they have had the switch car on the lot. Trust me there is a huge difference in the two cars. Don’t you find it strange that we got the call there’s been a mistake right at the hour we had told them we would be there I feel that they are crooks should be fired immediately. If you know do you really think I would pay over MSRP. Please help me spread the word by sharing this post. It is time the working people know we are not going to deal with business that have *** running their dealership. Lesson learned that I knew the good ole boy word means nothing. Boycott all David McDavid dealerships dishonesty will not be tolerated. .

Service Center Customer Service

This is by far the worst car service center in the DFW Metroplex. Let me explain why: 1. My Honda CRV had a recall. So, we call this service center since we have bough 2 Hondas from here. We were asked to come in at 815a on (last) Friday and were advised the wait time would be around 1 hour. I go there and am told that the wait time is 2 - 3 hours. Since I am already there, I have no choice but to ask them to go ahead and take care of the recall. About 45 minutes into it, I get a text message with something like 8 different things that need to be fixed and everything is "immediate attention". Glancing thru the list, i ignore all of it: let me just call 1 ridiculous "immediate attention" things - I need to change all 4 of my tires (on a Honda CR-V) with a Michelin apparently for a total of $770. Are these jokers kidding me? I ask them to not make any changes but to stick with the recall - upon which Joel (the Service Rep) says they do NOT have the part to fix the recall problem - this was after about an hour waiting there. Absolutely ridiculous. They said they will call me once the part is in. I walk out fuming - 2. Joel calls me again on Thursday (yesterday) saying the part is in and so I agree to come in at 830a on Friday (today). Well. Joel does not show up and so I get assigned to David Post - who says he will try to get it expedited and be done in less than an hour. 830a becomes 930a and then 1030a. I get a text with the same list of things that need to be fixed and I ignore it - since I had already said I am not interested in getting any of their "immediate attention" recommendations. 1030a becomes 1050a and so I walk over to David - who now says that since Joel is in, he has turned over my paper work to Joel. I walk over to Joel and he says car is not ready yet and it will take another 30 minutes (by now it has already been 2h 30 minutes). What choice do I have at this moment? Nothing - I gnash my teeth and walk back to the waiting room for another 40 minutes and finally walk out of the shop at 1150ish. Interestingly I am in the market for a car - rest assured, I will NOT go back to this shop or the dealership. Heck, I am now looking at other cars - and will very likely steer clear of Honda. This dealership - is by far - the worst. Take my advice: Avoid it like the proverbial plague and take your business elsewhere.

"Not My Job"

Getting *** service in a place where you’re spending less than ten dollars for a burger is one thing, but in a place where most people make their second biggest lifetime purchase, that is another. And, under any paradigm, good service can negate a lot of sins. All too often, the “it’s not my job” mentality is found everywhere. Congratulations, David McDavid in Irving! You win the award for that category. A few days before Christmas, my daughter bought a Nissan Leaf from the used car selection at David McDavid. Since then, she has had a few minor issues and brought the car to the service department, after making an appointment, to address these issues. David McDavid dealership sold a warranty with the vehicle, and one would hope to stick with one dealer out of convenience or loyalty, right? Well, the service department’s response was, “We can’t help you because we don’t work on Nissans.” (“not my job to care”, in other words). No one seemed to be the slightest bit interested in even being courteous, let alone, helpful in the miscommunication. If you sell a warranty for cars you cannot service, wouldn’t it be helpful to inform your customer thusly? I would think so. I would even give you points for honesty, to say that a Nissan qualified service department is where we should have taken the vehicle in future. In the future, my family will be avoiding any future business at your dealership and this review will be posted on as many forums as I can find. Thanks to the Don Davis dealer who stepped right up and offered the service David McDavid could not. On the Plus side, Patrick (aka. Thor), was very helpful on the date of sale. Although, knowing the psychology of car sales, it’s not saying much.

Sneaky Financing Shenanigans

My husband and I bought a Honda at David McDavid in Irving. We had settled on a price. I wanted to pay cash, but they insisted we finance as they receive incentives for that. I had to leave to pick up my son from school and left my husband to complete the paperwork. I found out later that they added nearly $1000 to the agreed upon sales price in the financing process. It was not additional fees...they simply increased the amount to finance by nearly $1,000. I was pissed. Nothing we can do now. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM AGAIN!! And we certainly will not be using them for any service either!

I had a deal from another dealer and David McDavid of Iving matched it. But, when it came time for the paperwork, they added a about 20% of the cost of the vehicle in add-ons that they said I need to purchase for getting AHFC financing. I spoke to AHFC later and found...

Need to be shut down

This place is a complete joke first of all they had my fiancé vehicle since July 7th it is now September 21 and they JUST called us to come pick it up after we had to call several times. Once got there tried to pay with Credit card but because my last name didn't match his I couldn't but they had no problem taking my Cash and having me sign for the car to be picked up...... Well even after that they tell me to wait because something was wrong with the A/C but the A/C was working fine before we dropped it off.... I want my deductible money reimbursed for this crappie job done.. Never again the insurance companies need to take this place off their list of collision repair..

Overall - A Very Pleasant Car Buying Experience

My son was moving to Dallas and we needed to buy a car for him. We decided on Honda Accord. We asked for a quote on the internet and received the response from a few local Honda dealers. We started working with our salesperson, Michael Insall, from remote as he was the one most diligently following up with us. Knowing the typical reputation of car dealerships, we felt that we had to be cautious going through the process especially that we were asked to put down a non-refundable deposit to secure a promotional offer. Michael was very patient to work with us through text, phone calls, emails and assured us what to expect. After we arrived in Dallas, the process of finalizing the purchase at McDavid was indeed no hassle and very much aligned with what Michael promised. It was really a surprising treat and we would recommend Michael Insall without reservation.

Unwanted accessories

I did some internet shopping and decided I wanted an Accord Sport. Honda of Ft Worth contacted me and offered the car for $21,400 plus TTL. Sounded good and I was planning to go see it, but Honda of Irving called and said they'd beat the price by $1,000, so I went to Irving. Everything went pretty well until we got to the bottom line when they added $1,700 in accessories that I didn't want - pin striping, tinted windows, trunk liner, etc. - probably $300 in actual value. I told them I didn't want them and they said they add them to all their cars and I didn't have a choice. So now the car I expected to get for $20,400, suddenly became $22,100. It wouldn't have been so objectionable if they'd been upfront about it, but they waited until I was signing an offer to spring it on me. Bad way to do business in my opinion.
